Prerequisites

We seek committed candidates who are prepared to thrive in our rigorous program. Review the complete list of prerequisites to make sure you are on track.  

  • No more than two prerequisites should be in progress when you submit your VMCAS application
  • 3.0 GPA minimum for cumulative, prerequisite and science  courses 
  • Courses must be taken at accredited institutions 
  • Prerequisites focus on Biological & Physical Sciences, Math, Humanities & Social Sciences

Our holistic admissions process focuses on assessing candidates as unique, multidimensional individuals with distinct abilities and past experiences. Beyond evaluating a set of scores, we consider the academic and personal history and an applicant’s overall fit with the mission and values of the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine.
