Our students are exposed to a large, diverse caseload through a network of more than 250 clinical affiliates. These partnerships provide general and specialty experiences in patient care and client communication.

Education during the clinical year will involve rotations through a vast network of clinical affiliates. Students will have access to routine and diseased animals in various clinical settings.

The Clinical Year will span August to August and consist of four-week rotations:

  • Three core/required rotations
    • General Practice
    • Specialty/Referral Practice
    • Primary Care/Shelter Medicine
  • One NAVLE Prep and Test Block
  • Eight Elective Rotations
  • One vacation block

Meet Our Clinical Year Lead

Don Rollins, DVM

Associate Professor, Clinical Relations Lead Veterinarian

Dr. Rollins was born and raised in Kansas, graduated from Kansas State, and began a mixed animal practice near Kansas City. Upon moving to Arizona, he served as the Program Director for Kaplan College’s Vet Tech Program and then returned to private practice and opened two hospitals for AZ Pet Vet in Phoenix. After hearing about the Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine and its new practical approach to teaching, he joined in March 2020, intending to pass on what he has learned to the next generation.
