Research Overview
As a leading educator of medical professionals and researchers, the Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine seeks to advance human and animal health globally through interdisciplinary research. Our commitment to exploration and innovation guides us to find solutions that solve critical challenges.
Areas of Research
Better outcomes for animals and humans are realized through interdisciplinary advancement in veterinary, social and health sciences. Our research efforts highlight advancing human and animal health and continue to expand our global understanding of the human-animal bond.

Human-Animal Interaction
The study of human-animal interaction (HAI) explores the impactful relationships between people and animals. We have the largest faculty group dedicated to HAI and its effects on the health of animals, humans and communities.

One Health
One Health — the intersection of animal, human and environmental health, and how to improve the health of each — encompasses various disciplines that work together to address challenges impacting our communities.
Focused On the Future
Not only are we committed to addressing the challenges that face veterinary medicine today, but we’re also dedicated to shaping the future of the field. From education to research, our gaze remains forward-facing.
