About Dr. Ramirez
Dr. Ramirez attended Iowa State University (ISU) and obtained a BS degree in Animal Science in 1989 and his DVM in 1993. He practiced in a rural private clinic in NW Iowa for over 10 years. In 2004 he obtained his Master’s in Public Health from The University of Iowa. In 2005 he became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. In 2011 he received his PhD in Veterinary Microbiology with an emphasis in Preventive Medicine from ISU. His duties at ISU until June 2021 included teaching, research, professional practice, and an administrative role as Assistant Dean of Academic and Student Affairs. In July 2021, Dr. Ramirez moved to his current position as Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Faculty Affairs at the University of Arizona’s new College of Veterinary Medicine.
