About Our Program
What Makes Us Different?
The University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine is educating the future leaders of tomorrow while preparing graduates for today's challenges. Our transformational educational experience encourages collaboration and creates a culture of innovation.
How to Apply
As you begin the application process, make sure you are on track to meet CVM prerequisites and discover financial resources available to you.
Student Support
We care about a whole-person approach to education. We reimagined a culture of wellness that supports students as they explore their pathways to lifelong learning and well-being. Students have access to financial counselors, wellness professionals, and learning specialists to assist with courses and combat the stress and burnout accompanied by the veterinary profession.
We aim to graduate comprehensive practitioners who will be leaders and future changemakers focused on building a healthier profession for all.
Our Facilities
Located at the base of the Catalina Foothills in Tucson, Arizona, the Oro Valley campus serves as the primary facility during the first two years of preclinical education and offers cutting-edge spaces for student support and laboratory instruction. Additional collaborative centers, such as the Campus Agriculture Center, the Health Science Innovation Building, the mobile surgery unit, and clinical affiliate sites, enhance clinical, surgical and professional veterinary skills training.
Our Three-Year Model
We want to provide an outstanding education without lifelong debt. Our three-year, nine-semester, continuous program produces high-demand veterinarians ready to contribute to the well-being of their communities through their service. Our curriculum structure provides a robust hands-on education and allows students to graduate and earn salaries sooner than their peers.
Meet Our Dean
Dr. Julie Funk, Dean of The University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine, believes in the transformative power of education because it changed her life. Growing up on a farm, Dean Funk was familiar with the persevering and demanding work necessary to care for the welfare of animals and applied those aptitudes as a first-generation student at Michigan State University, beginning a journey she would never forget. Higher education offered a world full of promise with endless opportunities driving Dean Funk to pursue a path intent on inspiring the same sense of possibility for future students.
