As the Class of 2026 approaches graduation, we're highlighting the unique paths that brought each student to this milestone. For Zoe Mason, her educational experiences throughout the clinical year in mixed-animal practice drew her toward a more specialized niche in veterinary medicine. Following graduation, Zoe plans to work as an associate research veterinarian at United Therapeutics (Revivicor).

"I will be working as an associate research veterinarian at United Therapeutics - Revivicor in Virginia, where I will be helping manage a herd of genetically modified pigs being used for xenotransplantation."

Her path to research took root during her clinical year, where hands-on experience with a variety of species pointed her toward a specialty she hadn't expected to love. "I spent a majority of my clinical year in rural mixed animal practices throughout the US and loved working with all the different species (especially swine!) and really fell in love with production/herd medicine."

Looking ahead, Zoe is energized by the impact her new role could have on a long-standing challenge in human medicine. "The research being done to address the organ shortage is cutting edge, and I am excited to see where it goes!"

For students just starting out, Zoe's advice is simple: stay curious. "Be open to new things! Try everything and experience as much as you can in school; you might end up discovering something you love."

Congratulations, Zoe! We can't wait to see where this next chapter takes you!
