Our final graduate on our #RoadtoGraduation is Delaney Maddix, who will return to her roots in Columbus, OH, after graduation. Delaney is excited to start her career in small animal medicine at a general practice and urgent care clinic. Her clinical year experiences solidified her passion for small animal care, and she’s eager to bring her skills home to the Midwest. Her advice to new students? "Make your bed every morning." It’s a small step that makes a big difference.

With a passion for small animal emergency medicine, cardiology, neurology, and heart surgery, Sammy is stepping into a bright future at Atascadero Pet Hospital this October. Eager to tackle the challenges of emergency medicine and make the most impact, she looks forward to growing under the mentorship of her new colleagues.

Kaylee Hass is starting her career in emergency veterinary medicine through the BluePearl EmERge ER mentorship program in Oklahoma City. Growing up in rural Oklahoma, her passion for animal care led her to pursue advanced degrees in Animal Science and Microbiology before discovering her love for emergency medicine in vet school. Kaylee is excited about the diverse cases and patients she'll encounter in her new role.

After graduating from the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine, Alyssa Rankin is beginning her career as an associate veterinarian at VCA Northwest Animal Hospital. With a background in public health, she’s excited to bridge the gap between animal welfare and public health.

Cierra Smith is starting a 6-month rotating internship at Reid Park Zoo and VCA Civano Animal Hospital & Emergency Center, with plans to pursue a career in zoological medicine. This achievement marks a significant milestone in her life as a first-generation college graduate. Passionate about species diversity, surgery, and education, Cierra is eager to learn from experienced clinicians and make a meaningful impact in veterinary medicine.

For graduating student Abigail Berry, the end of her veterinary studies marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. As she prepares to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in August, numerous career opportunities await her.

Ashley Sembach discovered a passion for small animal emergency medicine and urgent care during her time at Arizona, and she intends to grow her skills with a yearlong internship at Gilbert Queen Creek Emergency and Specialty Center.
