About Dr. Kaplan

Dr. Danielle Kaplan has been working with clinical year students at the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine since 2022, where she currently serves as a Clinical Year Mentor. In this role, she supports students through their transition into real-world clinical environments, focusing on clinical reasoning, communication, and professional development. She is deeply passionate about shaping the next generation of veterinarians and inspiring them to give back to their communities through peer mentorship and service.

Dr. Kaplan earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She spent the first several years of her career in North Carolina working in progressive small animal general practices. During this time, she developed a strong commitment to collaborative practice, client education, and mentoring veterinary support staff and new graduates.

From 2022 to 2024, Dr. Kaplan also served as a veterinarian for Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville, where she performed high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter procedures and contributed to improving medical protocols for shelter animals. She continues to work as a relief veterinarian throughout the Asheville region, gaining experience across diverse practice models and clinical settings.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Kaplan enjoys exploring the mountains around Asheville, traveling, spending time with family and pets, and participating in local community activities.
