Lakefield Veterinary Group understands the impact community involvement can have in helping animals that enrich our lives. Our mission is to create, deliver, and support programs that nurture healthy relationships between pets and people, including community outreach, education, and services. Our commitment allows us to help improve the lives of pets and their human companions through our communities and beyond. Every year we donate to local charities seeking to better pets' lives. We have also started a tradition with World Vets, where every year, we send Lakefield team members to destinations around the world to help animals in need. Our World Vets Galapagos Conservation Medicine Program on the Galapagos has been several years in the making. This ambitious program will work collaboratively to help protect the vast biodiversity of the Galapagos Islands, especially as it relates to the unique challenges brought about by the interface of wildlife populations, domestic animals, and humans. In recent years, the need for year-round access to veterinary care has become an urgent priority in the Galapagos, particularly on San Cristobal Island, which lacks consistent access to veterinary services. To keep the local dog and cat populations healthy and manageable, year-round veterinary services will be provided free of charge to the local community.

As the primary donor and sponsor for the new hospital, Lakefield is thrilled to launch this groundbreaking project to aid an underserved community and provide training and mentorship for recent veterinary graduates. At Lakefield, shared values, long-term commitment, and an empathetic, supportive culture are paramount to providing quality care for pets and rewarding careers for those who care for them. We are a family-owned company with more than 70 hospitals clustered in 10 states that provide small animal care, specialty, and emergency services. We are excited to be a partner with The University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine and wish you the best in your career endeavors!
