Thanks to a grant from HABRI and Pet Partners, the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine will embark on a scientific exploration of the influence of "Station Dogs" on the mental well-being of law enforcement officers. This pioneering study, led by Dr. Kerri Rodriguez, aims to uncover how these specially trained dogs may enhance job satisfaction and mental health among first responders. By studying 300 officers in stations with or waiting for a facility dog, our research aims to shed light on these dogs' potential benefits in supporting law enforcement's vital work. This collaboration exemplifies our dedication to impactful research that directly benefits those who serve our communities.
