Karyn Wesley, DVM
About Dr. Wesley
Dr. Wesley is thrilled to be teaching fellow Wildcats at her alma mater. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona, Dr. Wesley attended veterinary school at Colorado State University. While in school, she was selected to attend the Veterinary Leadership Experience and later became a student assistant for the program. Upon graduation, she was honored with CSU’s Dermatology Award from the American Association of Veterinary Dermatologists and the Outstanding Senior Award from the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Wesley returned to the Sonoran Desert to practice as a small animal veterinarian. She has practiced shelter, emergency and general practice medicine in Tucson and continues to see her canine and feline patients in Tucson and Sahuarita, Arizona. Dr. Wesley quickly found a passion for helping clients make informed, educated decisions for their pets. The empowerment that comes from shared knowledge quickly evolved to include a love of teaching, as Dr. Wesley worked with extern veterinary students and intern veterinarians.
Dr. Wesley hopes to support young veterinarians as they begin their careers, building confidence in their practice while promoting personal wellness. Dr. Wesley recently served as the Tucson representative for the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association and is an active member of the Young Leaders Advisory Council to support new graduates. In 2022, she received the Young Leaders Advisory Council Award for her contribution to the committee.
In her free time, Dr. Wesley enjoys reading in her backyard, exploring local restaurants, caring for her chickens, snuggling her two cats, and camping.
