Application Timeline
January: The Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) Opens
VMCAS opens for all candidates at the beginning of each year. Candidates can access and complete the standard application before college selections are available.
May: Program Selections Become Available
Specific program applications become available to all applicants through VMCAS. Students can complete any additional required material specific to their desired programs once program selections are opened.
September 16: VMCAS Deadline
The VMCAS application cycle will close at 11:59 PM ET. This is the final date applicants can create an account, submit their application, request recommendations, and the last day recommenders can submit their letters of recommendation. The deadline is subject to the discretion of the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) based on the ever-evolving environment for future applicants.
July-November: Supplemental Assessment Invitations Sent
Candidates who qualify for the supplemental assessment will receive an email invitation to complete their virtual recorded interviews within ten days of the received date.
September-December: MMI Interviews
Applicants who qualify for the Multiple-Mini Interviews will have the opportunity to participate in short interviews to assess college fit and address the motivation for pursuing veterinary medicine and other attributes necessary for evaluating each applicant's interests in Arizona CVM.
February 19: All Decisions Announced
Invitations to attend the College of Veterinary Medicine will be sent to final candidates on February 19. Read more about our selection process.
April 15: Final Decision Day
Students must accept or decline an offer to attend the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Weekly Admissions Committee reviews occur until all interviewed applicants have been considered. Notifications to applicants will be sent by email revealing the final status: Accepted, placed on the alternate list, or not accepted.
Members of the Admissions Committee include the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine faculty, administrators, and staff who regularly interact with veterinary medicine applicants.
All decisions are final.
