Dr. Carotenuto is a practicing emergency and critical care veterinarian, who enjoys treating small animal & exotic companion animals and is passionate about training day-one ready veterinarians!

Board Certification

  • Diplomate of the American Board of American Practitioners (Canine & Feline)

Educational Background

  • Dr. Carotenuto has worked at many hospitals throughout Arizona as an Emergency Veterinarian including at Canyon Animal Hospital in Flagstaff, VCA Paradise Valley Emergency, Emergency Animal Center (now Blue Pearl) in Phoenix, and the Veterinary Speciality Center of Tucson.
  • Volunteer work on the Navajo reservation with the Christian Veterinary Mission.
  • VCA Valley Animal Hospital and Emergency Center in Tucson as an emergency veterinarian seeing all species, with a particular interest in canine, feline, and exotic companion mammal species (guinea pigs, rabbits, rats, mice, ferrets, etc.).
  • Co-Intern Director of VCA Valley's internship program that oversees and trains newly graduated veterinarians who have broad-ranging interests in zoomed, exotics, emergency, surgery, internal medicine, imaging and general practice.
